We are proud to be the first jazz and blues festival of the season in Quebec! Throughout the many different venues for this unique edition, we’ll present dozens of artists in front of thousands of spectators who’ll celebrate in accordance with current health directives, both indoors and out. Exceptionally this year, the Festival is offering a score of activities between June 1st and 30st!
OUR MISSIONOur mission is to provide thousands of fans with memorable moments of jazz, blues and other related genres by producing high quality shows, while fostering the development and promotion of local artists all in accordance with the current guidelines.
The programming committee, constantly on the lookout for world music news, aims to always present the most popular artists available at the time of our event. This is how we regularly welcome artists nominated and winners of the most prestigious Galas throughout the country (Grammys, Juno Awards, ADISQ, LYS blues, Maple Blues Awards, etc.)!
The intimate side of most of our venues offers fans direct contact with the various bands and musicians on the program. Among our objectives: to allow young emerging musicians to rub shoulders with professional artists through the Place aux Jeunes component and to give our regional Jazz & Blues musicians the opportunity to perform in a professional setting. But above all, to provide fans with new and unforgettable musical sensations through quality, international-caliber programming.
This is how we care about the cultural development of our region and how we help to promote Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean throughout the country and even beyond.
The starting point of the adventure of the Festival Jazz et Blues de Saguenay is a group of friends, returning from New Orleans who decided to recreate what they had seen there.
Now, after a long winter, at a time of year when winter activities are over but summer activities are still on hold, starting in April, the city of Saguenay wakes up to offer you unforgettable musical discoveries, get together, applaud the artists who came to Saguenay expressly for the event.
Since 1996, the festival represents more than 2000 concerts and an average of 25,000 spectators annually.
